The Indian team for the T20 series against South Africa has been announced. The BCCI announced the 15-member squad on Wednesday. Suryakumar Yadav will remain captain, and most importantly, star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has returned.
Hardik had been injured in the Asia Cup 2025 and missed the Australia and South Africa limited-overs series. He is back in shape and doing well in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy that has assisted him to make a good reintegration to the T20 team.
The most shocking one is the rejection of Rinku Singh. Previously, in recent games, he was not receiving a lot of opportunities in the playing X, and he has since been removed as well. In the case of the finisher position, there are Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube and Jitesh Sharma of India.
The squad also includes vice-captain Shubman Gill but his involvement in the team will be based on his fitness. Gill had a neck injury in the Kolkata Test with South Africa and was out since then. It is reported that he can miss the first T20 and by the second match, he will be fit.
