The Netherlands coach Scott Edwards is stepping down as captain and is being replaced by Bas de Leede as the interim leader.
The Netherlands will have a new captain for the rest of their ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 stint after Scott Edwards announced his resignation from the role.
The Royal Dutch Cricket Association (KNCB) announced the development through a video, stating that Bas de Leede will be heading the Dutch squad for their last two league 2 matches against Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Edwards notified his teammates about the change, saying that he had been talking to head coach Ryan Cook and the team management for a while regarding the change.
The wicket-keeper said that the time was right and now wanted to concentrate just on his batting and stump duties, while ensuring that he was able to serve the squad as a seasoned player.
The 29-year-old first became captain of the Netherlands in June 2022, and led the team in 56 ODI and 50 T20 matches.
The included captaincy will enhance memorable World Cup victories.
Edwards’ reign saw the Netherlands achieve some of their greatest successes in the sport of cricket.
In the 2023 ODI World Cup, the Dutch side has left the world amazed with their stunner of their match against South Africa and Bangladesh, and in the previous tournament, the 2022 T20 World Cup, they had surprised South Africa with their memorable victory in Adelaide.
The performances made the Netherlands one of the more dangerous Associate nations, under Edwards’ leadership.
