India A are to have two different captains when Australia A come to India later this year for a multi-format tour. T20 skipper Anushka Sharma will lead the T20 side while Yastika Bhatia will lead in the 1-day and 4-day team.
The BCCI has decided to team up different sets for the three formats and then have the series played during September and October. Australia A will tip off against India A in a four-day match after enjoying three matches in both the T20 and one-day formats.
Anushka has once again taken on the leadership role.Anushka has again assumed the role of leadership.
Anushka has had a second chance to be a leader, as she played a leading role in the India A in the T20s in England.
The 22-year-old has three T20I appearances for the senior Indian team and made his debut for India earlier this year. Her T20 team features Bengal batter Sujata Dey who recently scored a century in the Bengal T20 League becoming the first woman to score a century.
Sayali Satghare has been named Anushka’s deputy for the T20 series.
Yastika takes to the helm once again.Yastika is back in charge.
For the limited-overs side, Yastika will be in charge and will take the helm in the red ball game as well. Anushka has been named her vice-captain in both teams.
Yastika’s choice is after she returned to the big league team of India due to injury. She was also a part of the Lord’s Test last month and scored a century in the second innings in India.
The four-day squad has several players who have been picked in the red-ball edition like Shubha Satheesh, Sushree Dibyadarshini, Shuchi Upadhyay and Mamata Madiwala.
The matches will be divided into two locations.
The T20 segment of the Australia A tour will be in New Chandigarh. The three one-day game and the four day fixture will then be held in Dharamsala .
The format will allow the emerging Indian players to get a taste of all the various formats and conditions they will encounter against Australia A.
