Indian teenager Vaibhav Suryavanshi is still shattering record books at the age when most teenagers are still in school playing cricket. The 14-year-old lefthanded hitter made another milestone in the match between the Under-19 World Cup 2026 and Pakistan.

During the contest of high pressure Vaibhav had made 30 runs out of 22 balls, hitting five boundaries and one six. Although the innings was not a huge one in terms of the number of runs, this has brought him to a historic age in youth ODI cricket.

This was the knock which saw Vaibhav overtaking the previous India U-19 captains Shubman Gill and Unmukt Chand to secure the highest run-scorer in Youth One-Day Internation matches in India. He has a total of 1,169 runs in 23 matches, with an average greater than 50, three centuries and six half-centuries. He has reached a high score of 171 in this level.

The emergence of Vaibhav has been exceptional. At the early age of 14, he has already demonstrated the character and the ability to play on the highest level in the field of cricket. It is thought that he is not long away before he makes a senior India call up.

Not only is the young batter known by his consistency, he is also known by his explosive nature. In IPL 2025 when he smashed a century within 35 balls in the team of Rajasthan Royals, he gained national attention and was thus the fastest Indian to hit an IPL hundred. At a very early age, his uncommon talent was supported by Rajasthan Royals who had taken him under contract at 1.10 crore.

The Routes in Bihar and a family of Cricketers.

Vaibhav was born on March 27, 2011, in a village Tajpur, Samastipur district, Bihar. He is a left-handed batter, who can also bowl left-arm spin; the domestic cricket player of Bihar. The start of his career was at a very tender age with him stepping into Ranji Trophy at the age of 12.

Cricket runs in his family. His father Sanjeev Suryavanshi was also a cricketer and he had significant influence in his career building. Vaibhav worships Brian Lara and takes advice regularly by former India opener Wasim Jaffer.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has accomplished what most players aspire to in their lifetime at the young age of 14. Provided that his development does not stop, the Indian cricket can soon see the dawn of a really special talent.
