NBA Scores Today: Hawks beat 76ers to a 127-121 score

The win ended Atlanta’s two-game losing streak thanks to 21 points from Onyeke Okongwu and a double-double (16 points and 11 rebounds) from Saddiq Bey.

The Hawks lead the 76ers by 17 points at halftime as a result of their poor defensive performance in the first half, which was caused by injuries, illness, and new player absences. The first half saw 73 points scored by the Hawks.

Without Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Nic Batum, De’Anthony Melton, and Robert Covington, Philadelphia had trouble stepping up to defensive duties.

Atlanta held control, relying on their three-point shooting (16 of 31 from outside the arc in the opening three quarters), while the Sixers attempted to close the gap in the second half. With Tobias Harris scoring 21 points and Kelly Oubre Jr. scoring 28, Philadelphia was able to cut the lead to six points on many occasions, but Trae Young’s clutch plays—especially without Embiid—saw the Hawks come out on top.

Both of the 76ers’ most recent arrivals, Buddy Hield and Cam Payne, had strong debuts, scoring 20 points apiece. Their basketball IQ and perseverance were praised by Philadelphia’s coach Nick Nurse.
