Neeraj Chopra, two-time Olympic gold medallist in javelin and javelin throw, began a new chapter of his life when he married Himani Mor, former tennis athlete and management professional, in an intimate ceremony on January 19. Neeraj shared glimpses from their wedding event which was attended by family and friends through social media on January 19.

“Together I have embarked on the next chapter of our lives. Grateful for the abundance of blessings which has brought us here today; loved by my true love, who wishes me nothing but happiness for the future,” Neeraj expressed in an emotive note to family and friends.

Who Is Himani Mor?

Following the announcement of their wedding, social media was abuzz with speculation as to who Himani Mor was.

Himani Mor, from Sonipat in Haryana, is an expert professional in sports management with experience in tennis. She currently works as an assistant to Amherst College’s graduate program managing their women’s tennis team while working towards her Master in Science of Sports Management degree at McCormack Isenberg School of Management.

Himani started her sports career during her undergraduate studies at Miranda House, Delhi University from 2015 – 2018 where she obtained an undergraduate qualification from both Political Science and Physical Education departments. Additionally, during this period she represented Delhi University at the World University Games (2018) as an avid tennis player.

Her final volunteer assistant tennis coaching assignment was at Franklin Pierce University in the United States, where she obtained her Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Sports and Fitness Administration.

Himani is passionate about managing sports. Having played sports for 14 years and worked in management and administration for two, she is a strong believer in the ability of sports to foster diversity, inclusivity, and self-determination.

She oversees the scheduling, hiring, budgeting, and training of the women’s tennis team at Amherst College. Her passion for applying her experience to improve sports management procedures and accelerate the expansion of sports enterprises is evident from her LinkedIn page.
