Schedule’s out. Now Yuvraj Singh’s telling India’s women how to handle CWC25 — by keeping their heads cool.

The ICC has dropped the full schedule for the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 — and India kick things off against Sri Lanka in Bengaluru on September 30. That’s the headline. But the real talking point? Yuvraj Singh’s blunt little pep talk for Harmanpreet Kaur’s side.
“It’s happening in India… these moments don’t come often,” he said in Mumbai, leaning into the weight of the occasion. “It’s a great chance to create history — but that doesn’t mean from day one you think you’re winning it.” He’s been there. He knows the hype can fry your focus.
Then came the reminder: “They lost a couple of finals. We’ve been there. Enjoy this moment rather than thinking ahead.” And, almost as a challenge to the stands: “We were supporting the boys. Now, it’s time to support the girls.”
Truth is, home tournaments are tricky. The cheers can turn to groans in a heartbeat. “Fans want fours, sixes, wickets… they want entertainment,” Yuvraj said. “There’ll be times when things don’t go well. That’s when experience and self-belief take over.” He paused. “Every time you walk into the game, you have to believe.”
Beside him, Mithali Raj went big picture — remembering when women’s cricket barely had fixtures before joining the BCCI in 2006. Now, the stage is bigger. The stakes higher.
And in 50 days, the noise begins. The question is whether India will ride it — or let it ride them.
