WPL 2026 Most Expensive Player: The Women’s Premier League mega auction is in more discussion this time than its previous editions because player purchases have broken records. The most expensive player was bought for ₹3.20 crore, which itself shows how hard teams must have tried to sign this player. But it was not just one player who went for a record price. Many players received huge bids this time and their value increased significantly at the auction. In the auction, 67 players were bought. 11 players crossed one crore rupees. The teams together spent ₹40.8 crore. This is the list of the 5 most expensive players.

1. Deepti Sharma

Deepti Sharma became the WPL 2026 Most Expensive Player in the mega auction. UP Warriorz bought her for ₹3.20 crore. Delhi Capitals had first placed a bid of ₹50 lakh for her. Later, UP used the Right to Match card, after which Delhi increased the bid to ₹3.20 crore. UP Warriorz agreed to this amount and finally signed Deepti Sharma for ₹3.20 crore.

2. Amelia Kar

Amelia Kerr is the second highest-paid player in this auction. Mumbai Indians secured her for a huge ₹3 crore. The New Zealand all-rounder’s value comes from her ability to contribute in every department — she bowls tight leg-spin spells, breaks crucial partnerships, and can score quick runs in the middle order, making her a key T20 match-winner.

3. Shikha Pandey

The auction saw a big moment when UP Warriorz bought Shikha Pandey for ₹2.40 crore. Her performances for Delhi Capitals in WPL clearly impressed the franchises.

4. Sophie Devine

New Zealand’s Sophie Devine has been signed by Gujarat Giants for a whopping sum of Rs 2 crore (approximately $20 million), further cementing her position as one of the most effective power hitters in women’s cricket. Known for her aggressive batting, leadership skills and useful medium pace bowling, Devine brings immense balance to any team.

5. Meg Lanning

Australia’s famous captain Meg Lanning was bought by Uttar Pradesh Warriors for Rs 1.9 crore (19 million rupees), reflecting her continued dominance even after retiring from international cricket. His excellent leadership skills, strategic understanding and consistent batting determined his importance.
