Victory Parade: Will India Women Team Celebrate Their Historic World Cup Win in Mumbai? Here’s What BCCI Said

The Indian Women’s Cricket Team’s Victory Parade is the hottest topic after they won the ICC World Cup 2025 in history. People are keen to see whether Mumbai will be the venue for a big bash like the one after India’s men’s team wins. However, the head of BCCI, Devajit Saikia, has been quoted clarifying that ultimate decision will be taken only after officials return from the ICC meeting held at Dubai, UAE.

No Immediate Victory Parade

In an interview with IANS, Devajit Saikia said no plans to conduct Victory Parade at the moment. He said that he is going to Dubai for an ICC meeting in which a number of important issues will be discussed. Once all officials of BCCI are back in India, the board will decide the way to celebrate the women’s team for their World Cup victory.

Saikia said, “Victory Parade is not yet confirmed.” We are going to Dubai for ICC meeting, and then the moment that is over, we talk about how to celebrate the team’s achievement.

BCCI to Raise Asia Cup Trophy Issue

Besides the celebration, Saikia also confirmed that the BCCI will raise another unsolved issue in the ICC Meeting – the Asia Cup 2025 Trophy.

Putting India winning the Men’s T20 Asia Cup final in Dubai on September 28, 2025, where the team defeated Pakistan led by Salman Aga by five wickets at the Dubai International Stadium. However, the players did not receive their trophy and medals as the prize giving ceremony was to be done by ACC Chairman and Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi of Pakistan.

But the two countries had heightened conflict following the terror attack at Pahalgam, which led to the boycott of the ceremony by the Indian team. The BCCI then lodged a complaint with the ACC. Naqvi is still said to have handed over the trophy in Dubai but it has not arrived in India.

Saikia said, “We will take up with the ICA the matter of the Asia Cup trophy. Further, the trophy should be returned to India with dignity.

India Women Team’s Victory Parade Still Possible

Following the team’s first-ever ICC World Cup triumph, the India Women Team has been the recipient of widespread accolades at home. The social media has been flooded with posts outlining the victory parade in Mumbai for BCCI, in order to celebrate their achievement.

Sources say the board should not rule out the possibility of a Victory Parade though after the officials return from Dubai. If the proposal is accepted, the celebration is likely to be held at Marine Drive or Wankhede stadium, both famous for iconic cricketing moments.

Why the Decision Matters

India has a long cricket history but there has hardly been a victory parade. The last major celebration was after the 2011 ODI World Cup, when the men’s team was raising the trophy at Mumbai. No such event has been conducted on a large scale since then – not even following great international titles.

It has been recently celebrated by the India Women Team, this is a new era for Indian cricket, and many now feel that this is the right time to honor their efforts just like the men’s team. A Victory Parade would not merely celebrate a trophy but would celebrate equality, progress and pride in Indian women’s cricket.

What Happens Next

The BCCI is currently focusing on the ICC meeting in Dubai where important administrative matters will be discussed, such as the Asia Cup Trophy dispute with the ACC. The board officials are expected to come back and discuss the Victory Parade as well as other plans for the celebrations.

Whether the parade takes place or not, the Indian Women Team has already made history. Their triumph at the World Cup has brought people together across the country and served as a source of inspiration for many young girls.

As the world awaits the official announcement of the BCCI, one thing is certain – the champions have offered another moment of pride to Indian cricket, and their triumph deserves all the limelight.
