India have lost their second consecutive ODI against Australia, meaning they have also lost the series. India lost the second match in Adelaide by two wickets. Despite the loss, Indian fans seems happy looking their former Indian captain Rohit Sharma back in the form today. He tried to stabilise the team with a brilliant innings of 73 runs.

Another significant knock was played by Shreyas Iyer who replaced Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli at the bat. He was on the side of Rohit and got a half-century, and helped India to revive their innings that was not well started. The third wicket between Rohit and Shreyas contributed more than 100 runs providing India with a good position to record a fighting total.

However, the other Indian players were not able to make much after Rohit and Shreyas were out. Virat Kohli again missed out without making any points making the situation difficult to the team. The Indian team scored 264 runs before the end of the innings. At the arrival of Australia, they performed well and could easily pursue the runs. Matthew Short got 74 and their youthful players completed the match. India too failed to hold on to some of the catches and hence they lost the match.

After the match, Captain Shubman Gill remarked that the mistakes of India in the field were fatal. Three catches were missed on critical periods of the innings. Our run on the board had been good, but you never get the opportunity to miss, and then it is hard to guard, you see, Gill said.

Leg-spinner Adam Zampa took four wickets at the cost of 45 and was named Player of the Match. Australian captain Mitchell Marsh commended his bowling performance and sanity in the chase.

The last and third ODI will take place in Canberra, and India is likely to make alterations, as the outcome of the series has already been determined.
