Big and powerful teams such as Mumbai, Karnataka, and Delhi have been dominating the Indian domestic cricket throughout many years. These are teams with good systems, players who are experienced and have a record of winning trophies.

However, it happened differently in Ranji Trophy 2026.

Jammu Kashmir was the Ranji Trophy winner. It was not an ordinary triumph. It was a historical event to the team and the rest of the region.

It is Not Passion, It is Proper Planning.

This may be assumed by some that this win was just due to emotion or motivation. But the truth is different. Jammu and Kashmir fielded good and intelligent cricket during the season.

Their bowlers had their plans laid out and they governed the game. Their batters were patient and their playing under pressure was responsible. In the last, they overpowered an equally powerful experienced Karnataka team. That indicates that this was not by chance but it was planning and collaboration.

The Journey Was Not Easy

Previously, it was highly challenging to take the players of Jammu & Kashmir to the highest level. The facilities were minimal, the opportunities were few, and a lot of challenges were present. Seasons of cricket were occasionally switched and young players were not necessarily receiving equal opportunities.

However, during the past 20-25 years, things gradually began to get better.

Indian team was reached by players such as Parvez Rasool. Umran Malik astonished all through his speed. Abdul Samad appeared in the IPL and received the experience on a large scale. These players were a source of hope to young cricketers in the region.

The Ranji Trophy is now the greatest step forward.

A Big Message for the Youth

This is a big message of victory. It is a message to young players in Jammu & Kashmir that they could dream big. They do not have to leave their houses and become someone else in order to succeed.

Through hard work, discipline and the necessary support, anything can be possible.
