Haider Ali was suspended by PCB after raping allegations were alleged against him after he was arrested in Manchester during the tour of Pakistan Shaheens.

Pakistan batter Haider Ali has been provisionally suspended by the PCB after reports emerged that he was arrested in Manchester over a rape allegation during the Shaheens’ recent tour of England.
According to Greater Manchester Police, a 24-year-old man was taken into custody in connection with an incident that reportedly happened around July 25 at a private residence in Manchester. He’s since been released on bail while the investigation is underway — the man has been identified as Haider Ali.
In a statement, the PCB said it respects the UK’s legal process and will allow the investigation to run its course. They’ve suspended Ali for now and say further action will depend on how things unfold legally.
Police sources say they received the complaint on Monday, and the arrest followed shortly after. No further details about the alleged incident have been made public yet.
Haider was among the more talked-about names in Pakistan’s young talent pool. On the England tour, he featured in six matches for the Shaheens, scoring 159 runs between July 22 and August 3.
Since making his international debut in 2020, the 24-year-old has played 35 T20Is and two ODIs. But this isn’t the first time he’s been in trouble — back in 2021, he was suspended during the Pakistan Super League for breaking COVID-19 protocols, which kept him out of that year’s international tours.
He also made headlines during the 2020 Under-19 World Cup, where he was one of the standout performers for Pakistan.
As things stand, the PCB is holding off on any final decision, saying it will wait for the legal process in England to conclude before making a call under its Code of Conduct.
