The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced the definitive programme for the Ashes in 2027, which will feature both the Men’s and Women’s series in the same summer. The new format of the “twin Ashes” is being revived in 2023 with games taking place at some of England’s most recognizable venues.
The five-Test men’s Ashes series will kick off at Trent Bridge on June 18, and will finish at The Oval on August 2, whilst the women’s five-Test Ashes series will commence with a standalone Test at Headingley on June 24.

The Ashes Test will be played at Trent Bridge for the first time since the 2015 series when Stuart Broad had one of the greatest bowling spells in Ashed history. The series will then continue in the next Test locations, at Lord’s, Edgbaston, the Utilita Bowl and at The Oval.
For the first time ever, the Utilita Bowl will host one of cricket’s biggest rivalries, the men’s Ashes Test.
The visitors are scheduled to play a four-day warm-up game against England Lions at Emirates Old Trafford on June 7 to 10, to help Australia get going for the series. The extra fixture comes after talks between the ECB and Cricket Australia, both of which desire to do more to prepare for the marquee clash.
England’s five-match international home season starts early in May as they play five ODIs against Pakistan before welcoming Bangladesh to Lord’s for a Test match. But, with the Indian Premier League fixtures having a possible clash with the English schedule in the early part of the summer, players’ availability may be affected.
The Bangladesh Test will also be the country’s first Test in England since 2010, which will be a big occasion for both the teams.
The white-ball series with New Zealand will feature five ODIs and three T20 Internationals, which will cap England’s home season in 2027. The series is hoped to be England’s last warm-up ahead of the 2027 ICC ODI World Cup starting in South Africa next month.
The men’s and women’s games concluded a tight Ashes in 2023 and Australia still kept both series as the winners as another epic Ashes period is set to unfold in the English summer of 2027.
